alaska 2008

on my way home from colorado last week, i gave up my seat and got a free flight anywhere in the lower 48 states or alaska...i figured alaska would be the best for me since i've never been there, and it takes a little more effort to get there...so, i need your help.

what time of the year should i go, and where in alaska should i go?

They say summer is best... june july-ish. I always wish they'd ask me to give up my seat, but they never do!!

Anyhoo... I'm upset because I came here specifically looking for your green tea fishy recipe, and now it's gone. BOO!

sean, that's great that you got a round trip ticket by giving up your seat. that reminds me of the time in vegas that i gave up my seat twice and got two round trip tickets. i never got to use them as we had two boys in college at the time who needed flights home for the holidays or some silly thing. marian, just a hint in case you don't know the game, whenever you are not in a time crunch to make connections, just go to the counter at the gate you will fly from and ask to be put on a list to give up your seat in case the flight is overbooked. they are usually quite accomodating, especially if the flight is overbooked as this takes the pressure off them.

Wow! That a wonderful gift! =) My brother-in-law has been to Alaska twice now; he's an avid fisherman (like Jon) and he loves going in the summer. I look forward to seeing pictures from that trip. Its gorgeous there!
