wimbledon update

2003: i had never watched tennis much in my life, but for some reason this year was different. i followed it some, but some players caught my eye.

2004: i had my player picked out to watch and it wasn't just because i thought she was cute. i knew she had potential to take on the hingis', the graf's, and the williams of women's tennis. people criticized her for her play and immaturity. people ridiculed me claiming i was just cheering for a cute girl. when it was her time to take on serena williams, everyone thought that the thirteenth seed was no match for the first seed. i knew differently. i knew right. time would tell, and i should have taken people up on their bets - even though i had bragging rights and that was good enough for me, maria sharapova became the two thousand four wimbledon champ. she has talent, she has vigor, she has aggression. unless you have your favorite picked out, vote sharapova.
