philosphy for dummies or dummies in philosophy?

starting last night, i went to my friend will's to rendezvous for some philosophy studying at his place. of course not a lot was accomplished, but we headed out to our computer lab (c-lab, clab) to meet with a guy to help us. he was finishing up a study guide when we got there so we chatted philosophy and other exciting jargon. we left the clab with study guides in our hands about 10:35pm - yes, nearing my 11:00 bedtime. by the time i showered and was in bed, it was 11:15. crap, 5:30 is too close. so i made a half conscious decision to sleep in until 6:30 then study philosophy for an hour before my test. i gave up a run i was looking forward to for philosophy. all went as planned and after an hour of studying, i do believe i am well-prepared for this test. but wait a minute, let's take a look at the background, the meta-philosophy of my studying.
philosophy 201 is the name. philosophy for dummies is the book... yeah, you heard me. why not? busies, edies, comies, undies (busie = a person studing business, therefore you can figure out the rest) taking philosophy. we may not be dummies per se, but we are in that area. it's not as much of an insult as you would think. it is a well-written book aimed at educating the philosophical dummies in the world, aka the me's of this world. anyway, what other philosophy class, especially at a christian school, would show the matrix and require two texts on the matrix? this one for sure. other than the 8 point grading scale, the class is actually fun. oh yeah, i have to go take a test now. tests. that's another story for another time.
