i don't know lovedrug, but i met michael

as most people could get away with saying "i know [person]" my brother will be the first to point out that i don't know someone if i've met them twice and could be recognized by them in some way or another. that is coming from my brother who goes to parties and talks to people we all have heard of as routinely as his morning coffee. so, even though i've met some people, i can't say i know them.

this was true today when i was sitting in line at little america waiting for my $.35 cone (yes, they still sell cones for $.35). i saw some guys go in who had to be a part of a band. i didn't recognize them, but they looked like bandies completely. so i walked outside with my leaning cone and a guy said to me "hey, you left your gas cap on your trunk." i fixed it and realized, as he was walking towards a van with a trailer, that they were for sure bandies. i struck up a conversation with him and he told me that he was in a band called lovedrug. then he talked about the band, the tour, the music, and the road. after a handshake and name exchange, i bid him good luck on the tour and he bid me a good trip.

no pat, i don't know lovedrug, but i met michael - even if he wouldn't recognized me in a week.
